Summer in Check: More Neutrogena Sunblock

DSC048031
Its Summertime and it is hot. especially here in Texas. Gahh its like burning outside. even though I like Summer for my Birthday and all, it is Quite annoying with the Heat. SO bad that I just want Fall to come. geez what kind of heat is this? Its like an oven out there! whenever I go out I rush into the car and put on the AC its just so unbearable!! I’m so glad my parents finally agreed to have the AC on 24/7!
well since its hot and bright and sunny etc…I don’t plan on going to any beaches or pool (at least during the day…I don’t care if I'm half Nekkid) I hate hot weather……….I’d rather it be mildly cold lol BUT for those who love the heat…remember sunscreen is an essential thing regardless of what amount of melanin you genetically possess. SO I purchased some new Sunscreen, Neutrogena of course!

On to the review Open-mouthed smile
NEUTROGENA ULTRA SHEER BODY MIST [ABOVE]
Ultra Sheer Body Mist provides broad-spectrum UV protection in an ultra light sheer mist.
Stabilized with Helioplex®, it provides superior balanced broad-spectrum protection against UVA-aging and UVB-burning rays in an ultra-light, non-greasy finish. This weightless formula applies easily to even hard-to-reach areas. Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunblock is waterproof, sweatproof and resists running into eyes. This one-touch continuous spray works at any angle.
This product features Helioplex®, a breadth of stabilized sunscreen technologies that delivers superior protection from the sun.

  • Waterproof
  • Sweatproof
  • Non-comedogenic (won't clog pores)
  • Oil-free this is actually my second time buying this spray, I am in love with it, mainly because its really light, and unlike some other body sunscreen, its not irritatingly sticky, greasy or anything, plus the spray nozzle is easy to use and maneuver, it also gives you an even application. This is my staple sunscreen!!

More than just sunburn protection, Age Shield Face Sunblock Lotion SPF 110 with Helioplex® delivers superior anti-aging protection.
This sheer formula helps combat sun-induced free-radical damage that can accelerate the signs of aging. Skin conditioners hydrate and replenish skin as the lightweight lotion absorbs quickly for a fresh, non-greasy feel, protecting your face and helping to maintain a youthful appearance every time you wear it.

  • Helioplex®
  • Oil-free
  • Waterproof, sweatproof the sunscreen is alright I love the SPF #!, it is not as light as the Neutrogena sheer sunblock, but it is still not too heavy. it is very creamy and a little goes a long way. I think the only downside I have to it is that unlike the Sheer sunblock, it creates a white cast. so I cannot wear it alone I have to put makeup on top instead.

What I love about these Sunscreens is that they both protect from UVA and UVB rays
UVR from the sun is subdivided in three bands:
  • UVA (315 – 440 nm) black light
  • UVB (280 – 315 nm) most harmful
  • UVC (100 – 280 nm) germicidal UV varies in intensity with latitude, elevation and season
    General effects of UV Rays
  • Photosensitivity – heightened sensitivity to sunlight
  • Photoallergy – dermatitis (itching rash)
  • Phototoxicity – severe reaction to sunlight sometimes caused by drugs
  • Photoaging – leathery skin, loss of elasticity, brown spots
  • Premalignant lesions
  • Malignant lesions
  • Squamous cell carcinoma
  • Basal cell carcinoma
  • Malignant melanoma
    Protection? YESSS
  • Stay in the shade
  • Wear a hat
  • Wear sun glasses
  • Use sun screen with a SPF of 15 or greater
    SPF rating
  • The SPF rating is calculated by comparing the time to produce a reddening on protected skin to the time needed to cause a reddening on unprotected skin.
  • A fair-skinned person might turn red after 10 minutes in the sun. Ten minutes is their "initial burning time." If they use a sunscreen with SPF 2, it takes 20 minutes before they burn
  • If they use a SPF 15 sunscreen, it takes 150 minutes, or 2 ½ hours, for their skin to turn red.
  • SPF 15 or higher sunscreens are generally thought to provide useful protection from the sun
  • The best sunscreens protect against both UVB (which can cause sunburn) and UVA (which may cause premature skin aging)
  • Best protection is achieved by applying sunscreen 15 – 30 minutes before exposure, followed by a reapplication 15 – 30 minutes after the sun exposure
  • Further reapplication is necessary after activities such as swimming, sweating, and rubbing
  • In practice, protection of the sunscreen depends on:
  • Skin type
  • SPF number
  • Amount and frequency of application.
  • Activities while in the sun
  • Amount of sunscreen the skin has absorbed. Untitled4

FOR ME I am Medium, but sensitive (Type IV- I do burn (by burn I mean it hurts ouch) but I tan very nicely), so I go with the sensitive chart. Looking at these chart, you can see that even the darkest of dark people, still need a little sunscreen if they are going to be out for over an hour or two (just a little less than those who are fair).
    That’s all!
    Thanks for reading!
