NYX dream catcher palette: Dusk till Dawn

Hello!!! Today I shall review an eye palette! YAY!
This is currently my favorite palette to use right now. Even my BH cosmetics palettes don’t compare to this palette. I am so in love!
Introducing the Nyx dream catcher palette in dusk till dawn
I chose Dusk till dawn mainly because of the browns. I do brown smoky looks quite a lot and I needed a good palette that would work for an everyday look. Honestly I am not disappointed in it. For it’s price I find it amazingly good quality. I have other palettes with the same price range but bad quality, I find myself wishing to use my dream palette whenever I use other palettes lol.
Claim: The heavens have parted and our Dream Catcher Palettes in celestial shades have arrived. Each palette includes 10 majestic eyeshadows that you can mix and match. There's even a secret compartment on the bottom with a mirror and a dual-tip applicator!
This limited edition collection of NYX eyeshadows will be the answer to your dreams.
  • What it is: Set of 10 Eye Shadows.
  • What it does: Creates a variety of eye makeup looks.
  • Why we love it: The collection of colors and highly pigmented payoff are amazing.
  • How to use: Apply with your favorite shadow applicator.
Price: $14.99 @ULTA
The mirror is definitely a plus in the palette (+1), but the applicator SUCKS (-1) and makes application of the eyeshadows look crumbly and hard to blend. I say use your own applicator or brush or fingers. I use my fingers a lot with this palette, I find it easier to apply with my hands.
The colors are TOP: Violet smoke, Light gold, Shimmery nude, Shimmery rose gold, Taupe. BOTTOM: Deep brown, grey-brown,  Smokey Pink, Charcoal, Black.
Violet Smoke is supposed to be a smoky looking purple with a soft shimmer, it is not intensely pigmented but is rather sheer, which I honestly don’t mind because it is buildable.
Light Gold is one my favorites in this palette because it’s a yellow toned gold shimmer, perfect for me and I use it as a highlighting color.
Shimmery Nude should be called shimmery white. I don’t really fancy this color since I never really use whites or shades like this in my eyes.
I am not a big fan of rose gold, but this color does catch my eye. Shimmery Rosegold blends very well and is gorgeous on my skin. It is actually softer and blends better than Light Gold.
Taupe is a matte color and is my least favorite of the palette. It is too sheer for a matte color and hard to blend (-1).
Deep Brown is most certainly a favorite, with its gold-toned shimmer, I love using it as a base for a deep brown smoky look.
Grey Brown is a great contour color for a soft smoky look I love using it for contouring.
Smokey Pink reminds me of a darker toned and cooler rosegold, I rarely use it, I find it a bit too sheer for me (-1)
Charcoal is wrongly named in my opinion lol. It just a dark brown with a little shimmer. It’s a bit sheer but works with a great contour and is buildable as well. I still prefer Grey Brown to it.
Black is the second matte color. It is pretty sheer as well but buildable so it becomes pigmented after the second-third application. I never use it lol, but it can make a soft smoky look because it is not heavily pigmented.
Pros: Great natural palette for its price @$14.99, beautiful colors, Nice HUGE mirror, Cool packaging (+1)
Cons: Some shadows might be disappointing, Applicator SUCKS
Rating: Starting at 10, (+1 for Mirror), (-1 for applicator), (-1 color Taupe sucks), (-1 Smoky pink too sheer), (+1 awesome packaging)
Rating total:  9/10
That’s it for my review of this palette, Hope it helps!!
Till Next Time loves,
