HOW TO GET VIBRANT RED BURGUNDY HAIR WITH LOREAL FERIA AND MANIC PANIC

Hello, readers!
SO it has been a while and I wanted to talk about my red hair, how I get my hair so vibrant, and what I do to get my vibrant burgundy color. This is my third time attempting RED so,  I think I am pretty well versed at the “dye-chronicles” and frustrations. Look at me making up words that make no sense….
OK, so there are two ways to get dark hair burgundy red.

METHOD #1: USING L’OREAL EXCELLENCE HICOLOR HIGHLIGHTS IN MAGENTA

This dye is supposed to be a way to lighten and color in one step without bleaching. it gave my hair a vibrant pink-purple color, which I then toned to burgundy and maintained with MANIC PANIC Purple haze.

It was easy to manage and it faded quite nicely, but the coloring damaged my hair, it got dryer and stiffer, although I did not bleach some powerful chemicals may have been almost as bad, maybe even worse than bleach itself. I doubt I will repeat such a process. BUT it is a great alternative if you do not want to bleach your hair first.

I later colored my hair with MANIC PANIC Rockabilly blue. It started out dark at first then turned into this dark cherry purple shade I love how temporary dyes fade on red hair!

METHOD #2: USING BLEACH AND THEN DYEING WITH A BOX COLOR

Although a lot of people do not fancy bleaching, I actually felt this was a better method for my hair. I bleached my hair 3x (not recommended) with a milder bleach, Salon care blue flash, or Loreal Quick Blue. It lightens slowly and it doesn't turn hair white blonde, but it works if you just want to dye your hair. I balayage-d the blonde and did it 3X (hence the multi-tones), and since it was an ombre it makes it easier to go from dark roots to light tips with color.

The dye used was L'Oreal Paris Feria in deep burgundy. This is about to be my favorite color. It comes out vibrant and gorgeous on pre-lightened hair. I have tried it on dark hair and it does not show –_-. SO,  I recommend it medium brown-blonde hair before dyeing.

The color came out true to the box except I hate the way it looks under the light due to the red color booster in the package. It also makes the hair fade to orange –_- SOOOO annoying!. I recommend toning the color with a MANIC PANIC purple haze to maintain color.

I used MANIC PANIC ultraviolet to maintain my color, but it turned it red-brown –_- it is no longer as vibrant but meh I can live with it till my next dye-time.

Welp hope this post helps! Feria+Manic panic=gorgeous red hair!!
Ore :)
