DECEMBER FAVORITES | 2018

2018 is almost over! Just a few more days and we will be in the new year. 2018 was a long year full of lots of ups and although it's been a while since I did faves I wanted to resume it all over again. This December was great, started out with exam anxiety but ended spending time with family. My favorites were mostly skincare and makeup and hair products.

SHILLS NATURAL SCIENCE CHERRY BLOSSOM MAKEUP REMOVING OIL
I've had this product for years but only came to appreciate it this December. I normally use micellar water for my makeup remover all year round but this December my skin has become a tad dryer around my cheeks so I switched to cleansing oil. The Shills natural science cherry blossom makeup removing oil is amazing, it removes all my makeup without leaving my skin dry and also even removes my eye makeup. It makes the cleansing step one quick stress-free step which means even when I'm exhausted I can quickly take my makeup off and just go straight to bed.

FENTY BEAUTY BY RIHANNA PRO FILT'R SOFT MATTE LONGWEAR FOUNDATION
This foundation will forever be a favorite! It is the only foundation I own which I do not have to color correct with a yellow adjuster (Fenty 330, NC44). It matches my tone and undertone exactly. While I've been in Ghana I had a sunburn on my face which made me go shades darker on my forehead and my skin became leathery and no makeup I had stayed on without appearing grey. However, my Fenty was able to stay on my skin and adjust to my tan without looking grey or off on my skin. I don't know what is in its formula but its magic. Forever a holy grail item.

ST IVES ACNE CONTROL APRICOT FACE SCRUB
Honestly, don't remember why I stopped using this scrub but after the sunburn, as my skin started peeling I needed something to help remove the flakes and make my skin smoother and I picked it up again. It was just a relief to see improvements on my skin, it got smoother and renewed over a few weeks. New Fave!

FARM STAY GRAPE STEM CELL WHITENING AMPOULE
Don't want to sound like a broken record but this was my saving grace after the sunburn incident. I promise it did not look pretty. Kinda worse than this one (the last time I had a sunburn). I used it to repair my skin and it worked. My skin appears brighter with a glow and it's nice and thick and moisturizing. Disclaimer about the name: It is not a bleaching product. It contains no hydroquinone.

TAMA COSMETICS SCENTED UNREFINED SHEA BUTTER
This year I became natural, so I started a new hair regimen. I started sealing my hair with shea butter. while in Ghana I normally used regular shea butter which I get from the market around my school for like 2 GHS (about $0.41) but I moved away from the area near tech market for clinicals so I had to switch on my purchase for items for my hair. I started using this shea butter by TAMA, and although it is more expensive than the market type (17 GHS ($3.50)) I love the scent. It contains Lavender oil, lemongrass oil, and myrrh and it smells amazing. It also does what shea butter does, of course, leaves my hair soft and moisturized.

Well, that's all for my faves for this month! looking forward to a great January, and happy new year!!
