I loved Bali mostly because of the food, and the lovely weather. The goal was to pick a retreat that was far away from town (about 2-3h), quiet, very private and very close to the ocean. The retreat was so perfect you didn't need to leave and explore because all you need was at the retreat. I believe I tried EVERY meal on the menu!

We spent mornings walking on the beach while our rooms were cleaned. Then we get breakfast delivered to our rooms. Pictured here is the Indonesian breakfast with rice porridge (BEST congee I've ever had). And an array of fruits (and dragonfruit!) I was so excited to try it.

For lunch, I ordered everything with spicy Tom Yum soup, absolutely the best soup for the weather! I also eat everything with a side of peppers. We had a romantic lobster and steak dinner for two and it was wonderful. The chefs at this retreat really overdo and go beyond expectations.

As beautiful as our pools and the ocean were, we never actually swam, it was way to cool to dip in the pool but it was a nice view, nice to sit beside it and relax and nice to have a private pool.
