As I enter into my late twenties, I have noticed visible signs of aging on my skin which has made me add various types of antioxidant serums and anti-aging products in my skincare routine. But because I am a student, I cannot see myself splurging on skincare products yet (although I do I have a never-ending wishlist). I want to try out the cheaper products first and see if they do work before graduating to the more expensive products.

This vitamin C serum by Seoul Ceuticals is an attempted dupe to SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic which is $166. I DO plan to purchase this product because I have seen so many good reviews on it: but I wanted to try the cheaper alternative first.

What Vitamin C does:
Protecting and reversing UV damage

Increase collagen production in the Skin by regulation of collagen synthesis

Reduce hyperpigmentation and fade scars.

I do personally think Seoul Ceuticals is not a real dupe to SkinCeuticals because the type of vitamin C included are different formulations.
SkinCeuticals Vitamin C is L-Ascorbic Acid, which is the gold standard of Vitamin C derivatives. It doesn't need any conversion and has shown evidence of actively working to do the three major works of Vitamin C. However, it is very acidic (PH 3.5) and can be harsh on sensitive skin.
Seoul Ceuticals contains Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP), which is more water-soluble less effective than L-Ascorbic Acid, and there's no data on its conversion to Ascorbic Acid as with L-AA.

However, as a standalone product, I think it's a good, cheap vitamin C serum.

For $16.14 this is a pretty good vitamin C serum, especially for those who are just getting introduced to vitamin C or those with sensitive skin. It is gentle on the skin, not drying, and leaves the skin mildly moisturized with a slight glow. The texture is thin and watery, with an almost clear/lemonade color to it. It comes in a dark bottle that slows oxidation. I used it for about 3-4 weeks nightly before it finally finished, it didn't oxidize or show any drastic color change during the time used.

Within the first two weeks, I noticed a slight change in my skin, although no drastic changes in my acne scars or wrinkles (and all the other claims),  my skin had a youthful glow to it and I had a reversal of overall pigmentation and my uneven tan from staying in Ghana. (My forehead normally tends to tan 4X darker than the rest of my face, the skin becomes leathery when it tans (and NO makeup stays on it! GOD the HORROR). My forehead is also where most of my acne develops so I tend to get more acne scars there. Here is a picture from my Laura Mercier Foundation Review of my bare skin while using the product (This was about a week or two after use). As you can see, my skin was GLOWING. I love this serum, even though it didn't give any drastic changes apart from the change in hyperpigmentation; I wasn't expecting much because of the price point, but I was actually impressed with the result.
