JUNE | 2020

I didn't want to do this post. I honestly don't have much to say. I have been in a state of anxiety and emotional fatigue with what is going on. As a black woman growing up and living in America I have experienced a fair share of racism, and daily micro-aggressions. And honestly, it has to be addressed and it has to stop.

It is heartbreaking to see people turning this into a political party issue. It is not a party issue. Determining whether a human being has a basic right to live because of his or her color is not a republican or democratic issue. It's a civil rights issue, it's a public health issue, it's a race issue.

There is no if or buts in this situation it is plain and simple. Everyone has a right to live and if you think a person doesn’t have that right because of their color then you’re the problem.

a review of the rollercoaster month of May,

Food | I have been cooking! This is how I relieve stress! I went grocery shopping earlier this week and was so surprised to find so many foreign vegetables that I bought them ALL ( Kale, Arugula, Bok Choy, Napa Cabbage, Collard greens). It seems so small and basic but I promise you, these are not generally available in Ghana and I was so happy to see them, I cleared the vegetable section!

I made Kale chips, Collard greens with some steak, I even made Kimchi! I also found some udon and tortillas at the foreign store and I was able to make a beef udon bowl, as well as some breakfast burritos.

These little things make me happy and make me miss home a little bit less.

Music | Been listening to Jessie Reyez, Sean Tang, VAVA, Eric Chou, Janice Yan, Tarcy Su, Kari Jobe, Elevation worship, and A-Lin. Mostly C-pop/Mandopop. I find Chinese music soothing.

School + Work |  We are resuming. Straight to Exams. YAY!

Skin + Hair | I am running out of products man! and there are no non-essential imports because the border is closed so I have been stretching everything.

Watching |  A LOT of Netflix. I also just found this website called Dramacool which I can watch dramas that are not on Viki or Netflix. Still have not finished my dramas from last month. It got so bad I had to write out a list.

My goal for this month is a prayer. Prayer that our cries will be heard, prayer for healing of our nation, and prayer for restoration.

Moving forward,  there are many things you can do to help the movement, donate, sign petitionseducate yourself on black history, support black businesses, educate your children and young ones, they are our future.

Lastly, 'All lives don't matter until Black Lives Matter'
Ore :)
