There was a time when I was tired of sweating off my sunscreens and burning with the constant exposure to the sun all year round while I was in Ghana, and I started looking for waterproof chemical sunscreens that actually work with the change of weather in a hot, humid country. This was when I stumbled on Supergoop!

Around that time, I kept seeing Supergoop! reviews on youtube and suggestions on amazon and I just had to buy it and give it a try. I do have the old packaging as Supergoop! has renewed the packaging and formulation of their sunscreens after the removal of Octinosate to make it reef-safe.

Our original broad-spectrum SPF 50 lotion for face and body. This hydrating, fast-absorbing formula provides high-performance protection from UVA, UVB, and IRA rays, while also helping prevent photoaging and dehydration. We've also formulated it to be water- and sweat-resistant for 80 minutes, so it's perfect for a day of play (i.e. things like running or going to the beach). It also smells amazing.

Active Ingredients: Avobenzone (3%), Homosalate (10%), Octisalate (5%), Octocrylene (7.5%)

This sunscreen is intended for playing outside, sports, and everyday use. And It definitely lives up to its everyday usage, as it is sweat resistant and won't streak down my face with constant exposure to hot humid weather and sunlight. However, I do not think it is great for all skin types as it claims, it is good for combination to dry, normal, and dry skin: but not oily skin or even combination-oily or sensitive. It makes my face look extra greasy and shiny and felt a bit heavy on application. However, on my dry, itchy skin on my body, it felt comfortable, and my legs and arms soaked it up enjoyably. There is no white cast, and it is an all chemical sunscreen I was expecting that it won't look ashy on me, and it didn't.

Although I am not against fragrance in skincare, I love my rose-scented skincare products, and some fragrance in my face creams I am definitely not for fragrance in my sunscreen. I have sensitive skin and eyes and I have noticed that the sunscreens that burn either my eyes or skin tend to be fragranced. Upon application of this sunscreen on just my cheeks my eyes watered so much I had to take it off after seeing what it looked like on my face. I could only use it on my body. Supergoop! Claims it smells amazing, and yes I agree, it smells good, but I feel like the fragrance is intense and way too much. Even with it on my upper arms, It makes my eyes water. I want to love this sunscreen as I love its texture but with tearful eyes, it is a no for me.

If supergoop does decide to make a fragrance free version with the same formulation, this would be my winter chemical sunscreen staple.

It’s a totally game-changing way to wear sunscreen every day, and it will have you SPF-Obsessed™.

SPF Packed with Powerful Ingredients: Frankincense: Helps the skin be resilient and provides a soothing effect. Complex Derived from Meadowfoam Seed: Increases hydration levels, resulting in a more even skin texture.

Active Ingredients:Avobenzone, 3%, Homosalate 8%, Octisalate 5%, Octocrylene 4%

As someone who doesn't wear makeup every day but I like to look like I have something on, this was a great sunscreen for me. It applies like a primer and blurs the pores a bit, without feeling too heavy on the skin. No white cast, no fragrance and looks great on the skin. It doesn't feel drying on application or too greasy either.

It is a silicone-based and chemical sunscreen. However the price point! It is so expensive and comes in a tiny amount (although there's a newer size that is a limited edition right now). Despite the price, I still like it and because it is so expensive I won't use it every day but It has joined my makeup primer collection for light makeup wearing.

Overall, I like supergoop, and I don't mind trying more of their products, As I am switching to Physical sunscreens once I move back home to Dallas, fully I will be giving different physical sunscreen brands a try with Supergoop included.

Thanks for reading!
